Lake Vouliagmeni
Just a few kilometers from the center of Loutraki, there is a beautiful landscape: that of Lake Vouliagmeni.Yes, you read that right, there is a Lake Vouliagmeni in Corinthia too. In reality, it is a lagoon with saltwater that is renewed through a narrow channel at its edge that connects it to the sea. Its waters are considered especially warm and allow swimming until late autumn. The most beautiful beach lies on the western shores and is covered with fine white sand. Around the lake there are a few tavernas that serve fish and meat, while visitors can enjoy water sports and cycle along the lakeside road.
Beach at the Heraion of Perachora Archaeological Site
How would you like to dive next to the ruins of an ancient temple? The archaeological site of the Heraion is located at the end of the Perachora peninsula, just 20 minutes from Loutraki and 10 minutes from Perachora. Here, near the Heraion Lighthouse, at Cape Melagavi, the ruins of an ancient temple dedicated to the goddess Hera are preserved, reaching almost into the sea. In front of the archaeological site, a small, sandy beach with fine pebbles and wonderful waters awaits your swims.
Mylokopi
An hour and a halfs drive from Athens and 20 minutes from Loutraki, there is a wonderful beach that gives you the feeling that you are on some exotic island. We are talking about Mylokopi, a sandy beach with fine pebbles, set within a magnificent pine-covered landscape that combines mountain and sea. The beach is divided into two parts due to an earthquake that occurred in ancient times. One side consists of dark, clean sand, while the other is dominated by impressive fissured slabs. The waters are crystal clear, with a distinctive turquoise color, while behind the beach stretches a lush pine forest.
Skalosia Beach
Secluded and accessible at the same time, Skalosia preserves its wild natural beauty. You can find this quiet and pristine beach just 15 minutes after the road that leads to Lake Vouliagmeni (Corinthia), covering most of the distance on an asphalted route, before it ends at a large flight of sea-stone steps, which gives the final access to the pebbled beach. To reach the beach you will need to descend a few stone steps and the scenery will reward you.
Pefkakia, Agioi Theodoroi
The Blue Flag-awarded Pefkakia beach is among the most popular in the Agioi Theodoroi area. It stretches along a pine-covered coastal zone that extends along the entire town and offers magical views toward the Saronic Gulf. It is worth staying on the beach until late afternoon to enjoy the sunset.
Vrachati
The beach of Vrachati is close to Corinth and is ideal for a family day trip. It is a large, pebbled beach with clear waters. It is organized with sunbeds, umbrellas and water sports.
Pefkias, Xylokastro
This beach in Xylokastro is surrounded by the verdant Pefkias forest - and that is what makes it unique. The forest is located between Xylokastro and Sykia and is a green lung for the area. It extends along the shores of the Corinthian Gulf and has been designated an aesthetic forest. The beach consists of white pebbles which, together with the green of the pines of the forest and the deep blue of the sea, compose a magical setting. In Pefkias there are beach bars with coffee, food and sunbeds on the beach.
