On the list of the worlds 50 best bars there are also three Greek bars.
The list of the 50 best bars in the world for 2025 was announced recently, at a ceremony held in Hong Kong. These are the annual Worlds 50 Best Bars, the most recognized awards in the world together with the Worlds 50 Best Restaurants. The awards are voted on by an academy made up of industry experts. This year, the best bar in the world is in Asia, while the list also includes three Athens venues.
Bar Leone: The best bar in the world for 2025
A tribute to timeless Italian drinking culture in the heart of Hong Kong, Bar Leone was voted the best bar in the world this year. It opened its doors in June 2023 by the multi-award-winning Italian bartender Lorenzo Antinori and has been on a steady rise ever since. Antinori, born in Rome, has worked at the best bars in London, Seoul and Hong Kong. His passion for cocktail history, Italy and football led him to open a bar inspired by Italian pop culture.
Bar Leone carries the spirit of traditional Roman bars, with the unpretentious and welcoming atmosphere of the Trastevere neighborhood spots. Its name comes from the lion (Leone), which before the Renaissance was the symbol of Rome, and remains to this day the emblem of Trastevere.
