Ouzo Barbayannis was showcased once again not merely as a product, but as an ambassador of Greek outward looking spirit and the modern production culture of the country.
The hosting of three French journalists on Lesvos was successfully completed, following an initiative by Ouzo Varvagiannis in collaboration with the acclaimed chef Dina Nikolaou, in a targeted outreach action toward the French market. The visit took place on the occasion of celebrating 165 years since the companys founding, set against the backdrop of Plomari and the wider area, showcasing authentic Greek hospitality, gastronomy and local culture.
During their stay, the journalists visited, among other places, the Varvagiannis Ouzo Museum and the family distillery, where the history and art of ouzo distillation, with over 165 years of tradition, were presented. The invited journalists enjoyed a rich, immersive experience and engaged directly with the islands gastronomy, its local, select ingredients, as well as the islands rich cultural heritage.
The visitors stay was kindly sponsored by Ouzo Villas, which, thanks to its facilities and amenities, contributed decisively to creating a distinctive hospitality experience.
This initiative is part of Ouzo Varvagiannis outreach strategy, aiming to connect the product with contemporary culture and gastronomy. The presence of Dina Nikolaou, ambassador of Greek gastronomy in France, enhanced the prestige and the symbolic dimension of the initiative, offering guests a unique journey.
Through this initiative, Ouzo Varvagiannis once again emerged not merely as a product, but as a vehicle of Greek openness and of the countrys contemporary production culture.
